Parts mismatch

I suspect that someone in the manufacturing chain decided that these parts should be anodized after the machining dimensions were established. The driver just doesn't fit the Sunrun cartridge and the parts don't match. Since I don't have time, I cut off the cover. Don't waste your time and money on this article.

I think it can still do its job

The chain whip is reliable. The circlip bushing fits. But the hex wrench that fits into the snap ring bushing doesn't fit (although it does fit onto the crank bolt). Haven't tried a 1/2" socket yet, but worst case scenario you can still use a standard wrench or adjustable wrench to get it working. I just wish it worked as advertised.

DO NOT BUY! The nut remover broke on the FIRST attempt to use it.

I bought this tool specifically to replace a worn out cassette on my Marin mountain bike. I took the wheel off the bike and when I tried to remove the nut the nut removal tool broke off and is now 100% useless! first time! Don't buy this junk! Save everything you need and get a QUALITY tool instead!

Pros
  • Some competition
Cons
  • Some loose change

Good quality goods

I recently bought new wheels for a bike and had to change the cassette. I bought this product and was not disappointed. The only thing that strikes me is that the handle on the key is small and short in my opinion. I wish it was a little longer, felt like I couldn't get as much torque out of the short handle. But overall it's a good tool for a bike mechanic's toolbox.

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

The price is good, unfortunately it didn't fit.

Fast shipping. Seems sturdy enough for casual use. The chain whip works 100%. However, the cassette tool does not fit the two bikes I work on. I have two cheap mountain bikes that are sold by a major retailer whose initials are WM. I got them for free, so I tried removing the stuck rear sprocket and replacing it with one from the bent wheel for a different one. Although both have 12 slots, the tool is too big to fit in both cartridges. They are marked "Falcon" and "Tri-Diamond". If anyone knows

Disassembled immediately

Chain whip is ok but cassette eject tool is rubbish. It is too high, making it difficult to get good leverage. The hex nut part is very flimsy and slips out of every adjustable wrench I've tried. In the end it didn't matter as the metal is so soft it snapped off after a modest try with the supplied Allen key. I was concerned I had removed the cassette due to too much twisting, but my LBS removed it with the same (higher quality) mount with no problem. I think the black finish on the cassette…

Not suitable for Shimano freewheel

After reading the reviews I decided to try it, in the worst case I have to buy another tool. Nicely packaged, the tools look solid at first glance. The freewheel bushing is aluminum, which is not uncommon, and the chain wrap looked decent. The bushing did not fit any of my Shimano freewheels (TZ500-7 or MF-TZ31). The chain wrap didn't have a locking mechanism to prevent the chain from falling and slipping, and is a bit short, losing leverage. I knew there was no turning back so I tried to…

Cheap whip at Sports

The chain whip worked perfectly (only used once so far). There are no surprises or disappointments, BUT the instrument itself, which is in the cassette, is absolute junk. All the teeth were chewed out at once, and the small handle of the L-wrench ("auxiliary wrench") is quite dangerous as the tool slips off the cartridge when torque is applied to loosen the retaining ring. Of course I'm glad I didn't chew my knuckles on the greasy teeth of the cassette sprocket! CONCLUSIONS: Revane's Choice is…

Doesn't work to remove cassette

I bought this to remove cassette and after trying for many minutes I couldn't. As with others, it would be nice if the tool was a bit longer for more leverage. The main problem, however, is that the tool does not cut far enough into the bushing to maintain contact when force is applied. Also in the tool there is some play between the connection of the bushing to the body of the tool. Every time you apply force, the bushing pops out of the cartridge body and you have to use quite a bit of force…
