You can't rotate this camera arm arbitrarily. What happens is that the movement of the arm is stopped by the screw. Also, the rod is unreliable even when screwed in. He swings like crazy. For example, if you need a top view to draw something, you need this stand at the craziest angle imaginable. Not worth the money.

I bought this item to do some product videos and was glad to see that a remote control came with it! (I may not have read it as carefully as I thought it would, but it was a wonderful surprise!) I've only had it a week or two but it works great for what I wanted. The hinges and springs easily hold my iPhone XS Max in the air. Unfortunately the ball joint design only allows the phone clip to rotate no more than 45 degrees around the ball joint (the 360 degrees they claim is different from how I interpreted it) and how the connection to the rest of the arm at the other end of the ball joint only allows up/down movement, so 45 degrees of the ball joint is the maximum that can be angled to the left or right.
