Yes, the thing is huge and built like a tank. The markings on the tape are very legible. Here are a few things that prevent it from being perfect: 1. The band is VERY stiff. And that's good. However, they accomplish this by causing the band to curve concavely, or inwardly like a "U", much more than most other bands.
