Not the best kettle About

I have been a loyal Oxo customer for many years. This is not their best product. It looks great but has some limitations that make me regret this purchase. First, the whistle is barely audible. I prefer a sound that alerts me when I'm more than 60cm away from the stove. The handle and cover of the spout are connected so that the cover lifts when the handle is lifted. While this seems like a great feature, I place the kettle on the stove and forget to press down on the handle to close the lid…

Pros
  • Not compatible with induction cookers
Cons
  • Nothing here

Nicely made but I had to teach it how to whistle

I like the techno look of this kettle and the mechanism opens the lid as advertised It has a dot play, which slightly reduces the sentiment cost. However, OXO really failed with the whistle. Other reviewers have stated that versions of this kettle released many years ago had a high-pitched whistle that was so loud that OXO decided to mute it. Well, they've gone too far, and now their teapots just hiss. At that price, why couldn't they turn on two whistles? I was able to get a soft teapot…

Pros
  • Big hole in the lid for easy filling and cleaning
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Beautiful kettle, just whistles like a child.

Great kettle, whistles just like a kid who hasn't learned to whistle yet. Looks great. Cork grips look incredible. They get hot, but I had no problem using them with my bare hands. The spout works great, doesn't drip or pour. The whole opening mechanism seems a bit useless, but it works great and makes it all the more impressive. The gas cap works great and offers easy access. The biggest problem is the whistle. You need to be near him in a relatively quiet room and pay attention to him or you…

Pros
  • Loud whistle signals when water is ready
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Good for kitchen and dining room the more you know

Right so I really like how the ergonomic handle works as I have crappy wrists and can easily tip and pour like a pie . The whistle wasn't insanely loud, which made me happy given that this kettle is on an airstream and has limited space. The only thing I don't like is that I find it's a bit of a slight dent. I think anything made of the same material behaves the same way. Mine came pre-painted, it was barely noticeable. I was excited at first, but then I put on my big girly bloomers and got…

Pros
  • 2 liter capacity
Cons
  • Not everything is as good as written

GREAT kettle but maybe a few lemons in a bunch

This is by far my favorite kettle I've ever had; nice weight, unique look and design help me remember to use the whistle so I don't forget my water is boiling. I have had the brushed stainless steel/cork handle version for several years and it has shown no signs of rusting or wear despite being used multiple times a day on my glass top range. Then there was an unfortunate incident with the original recently; The guest didn't bother to check if there was water left in the kettle and turned the…

Pros
  • Quality stainless steel and zinc construction resists rusting
Cons
  • Legacy model
