I have used them to freeze breast milk and it has worked very well. I bought these instead of Milkie's milk bowls because it has a silicone lid. A tray pretty much fills a sandwich bag. My only complaint is that the chopsticks don't come out very easily, but I think that's because I freeze full-fat breast milk instead of water.

This product works great as long as you follow these steps: 1) Hot liquid will freeze faster than cold liquid, making the ice clear and COMING ALL OUT 2) Fill the bowl so that each slot is completely filled to the point where it's a little too full. When frozen each cube expands giving you a little edge to lift them out of the tray, you will have whole transparent straws.

I like lemon in water and don't always have fresh lemons around the house, so I squeeze fresh lemons and freeze the juice. It's perfect for that. Just the right size for a water bottle. Can't speak to leaks as I'm not brave enough to flip this on its side until it freezes. Frozen lemon juice is a little sticky and a little hard to get out of the peel, but I found a way. This is the perfect ice cube tray. Ever since I was a kid I hated refilling ice cubes and to my parents' chagrin I always put them back empty. Now fun! I try very hard to ensure that there are no air pockets in any of the cubes. The silicone lid will pick up the freezing smell after a while, but luckily there's a solution! Remove the silicone pad and bake in the oven. Do not bake the plastic shell. 300° for 10 or 15 minutes is usually fine. This also works for Instant Pot pods.

Compared to the full silicone ice tray I used, this ice tray is much easier to use. I wish I had bought this sooner! Unlike silicone, I don't have to lay it flat or spill half of it on the way to the freezer. It is durable and the grooves around the perimeter do not let water through. Ice sticks come out so easy! The person or persons who have designed this product must have graduated from an engineering school, or perhaps lack common sense. This product description advertises a sealed lid to prevent ice from falling out. Guys, that's a green valve that you can use (cleverly!) to flip over an ice cube tray.
