OXO First Class scales are forever, and so are US postage stamps forever

I purchased the OXO Good Grips 5 pound food scale in December 2012 and would have given it a 5 star rating ever since. About a week ago (November 2015) the LCD failed and nothing could get it to work. I called OXO 800 support, briefly explained the problem, and the support rep asked what color (black or white) I had and where I would like a new one sent. Free at home. Highly recommended for Scale

My first Oxo kitchen scale finally broke after years of daily use and spilled coffee grounds, egg whites and various foods. I was happy to find the same model still in stock. Please understand that this is a kitchen scale, not a scientific scale, not a powder scale, not a fraction scale. Accuracy is around one gram, but fractional grams appear to round up and down and may vary slightly at times. It's still close enough for cooking. Big Problem Solved

We have two fat cats that needed to go on a diet. We didn't seem to be able to accurately estimate food portions by volume, so I decided to get a scale so we could use weight instead.
