Did it work? for specialty tools and equipment

Used a product for frying in a London griddle tonight. There was spatter on the stove, control knobs and handle. I think there might be less spatter than without the screen, but I'm wondering. Also (photo) part of the screen that wasn't directly above the hob was burned at the top but not at the bottom. Neither a soft sponge nor a bristle brush removed the black spots. I'll have to buy a steel wool pad and try again. I'm not sure if I should recommend it or not. No statement on strength or…

When the bacon fat bursts, the splashes stop

So the picture is deceptive. I thought I had four splash screens, but wait - there's more! In fact, you only get a splash screen, and it's good. It has the right size holes to allow steam to escape but almost no fat. If you are wondering how to clear screen, it is very simple. Most of the oil falls back into the pan, and what's left is easily washed off in the dishwasher. I put it on the bottom and it slides in with no problem. It's large and doesn't take up much space in your cupboard, but…

The product works, but there is a flaw in the idea

First of all I would like to say that this product works well. This reduces grease and oil splatter on my stove. Suitable for different pans. It can be folded up to save space and is easy to clean. The only problem I have is that I still squirt when I take it out of the pan. Didn't think of that when buying. I figured I needed a splatter guard because I'm constantly wiping grease and oil splatters off the stove and that would put me off. reality, i still do it. Is it the same? No, not much, but

Lots of splashes, uncomfortable.

Sorry Oxo. I'm not a fan. - I find the size awkward for anything but large pots. Difficult to keep it in place on smaller pots or pans - Doesn't hold back spills well; this can reduce splatter a bit, but you'll still be smeared with oil and you'll have to step back a few feet from the stove or you'll burn yourself. I think the drug addict safety net I bought at the dollar store ten years ago is actually more effective. You can't see into the pan at all. rips if you apply pressure while…

Terrible design from one of my favorite companies

This thing is horrible. I love every OXO product I've used (with the exception of their latest rimless can opener design) and have used dozens, but avoid this one like volcano pits. The holes are so big that this splash guard can't. Not only is it "not as effective" as a cheap metal screen; I'd say it's "just a little bit better than not using splatter screen at all". The handle is technically foldable, but when folded or otherwise it takes up so much space that it does not easily fit in our…
