I really wanted to love her and that's why I wanted her. Unfortunately they don't work at all. They're just fancy overpriced containers that don't hold a vacuum at all. I'm pretty sure I followed the instructions and made sure the lids were properly aligned and pushed down a few times to allow air to be sucked in. The vacuum was held for 5 minutes. None of the four containers held the vacuum longer than this time. If you need vacuum containers, don't take them with you. I'd love to find another

While the containers are very strong - and I like the little raised ripples at the bottom - the idea of sealing them seems like a great idea - it's not. keep the seal - obviously they can CREATE the seal, but they cannot SAVE the seal (shameless SEINFELD reference). I've had a set like this for years and when it became unusable due to breakage or in a case of a puppy chewing I had to replace it. The problem was that there was no hallmark anywhere on them. It took me a while to find them that are essentially the same with a few differences, mainly side zippers. Having just received them, I assume they will work the same way. The product is called 'Instavac' which suggests a vacuum seal but you can never achieve a vacuum seal with this product. You have to close the container and squeeze the air out manually by pressing on the lid. The air can supposedly only flow in one direction while the valve is open, so you're effectively reducing the amount of air in the canister.
