Works perfectly! But good for lighting and electronics

Works great! I've added a photo of the pin you need to connect the 12 volts to for your rear view camera. Please note that you cannot use the reversing light. The radio requires a constant 12 volts to the camera to recognize the camera! Pictured is a 2013 Corolla.

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • -

Worked perfectly for Toyota Prius 2012. I connected it to the video camera in the video port. I didn't use a 6 volt power supply for the reverse lights and it works great. Save me $80 would definitely recommend. Use for reversing camera.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Works great with my head unit OEM

These wiring harnesses made it very easy to install a non-original camera on an OEM radio. The stereo installer wanted to charge me $580 for a rear view camera because they said they couldn't install a rear view camera on an OEM radio. I did this for less than $75 including the price of the camera.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Annoying

Possible problem? for spares

I bought this harness to use with a Pioneer head unit and rear view camera. The LEDs of the reversing camera are constantly on, even when the vehicle is not reversing. Not good for people driving behind me at night. Installed by Best Buy Master Installer. I took it back when I discovered the problem and the installer said they didn't know why this could be happening. He said the installation was all plug and play.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Some little things

Works great don't repeat my mistake

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! I didn't pay attention to the fact that the camera needed constant power and I connected my camera to a backup light so I don't have to run as many cables. Plan ahead and make sure your video line is delivering power. Once you do that, it will work great. Don't spend a lot of money on a kit, just buy this and your choice of backup camera with an extra cable.

Pros
  • understandable even for the old ones
Cons
  • the cable is shorter than others

Follow Crutchfield's instructions and various online sources to purchase this. Will not work with '05 or possibly a 4th gen 4runner - incorrect factory settings. I ended up throwing it away, cut the factory 4 pin harness and soldered the factory wires to the old video cable and connected the correct voltage and ground. Do your research, disconnect your factory HU and see if you can connect a rear view camera before you buy it.

  • Certified

Worked great on my BRZ 2013.

Worked great on my 2013 BRZ. All I had to do was plug and play. I routed the power wire from the camera back to the ignition switch on the radio (you can connect the positive wire from the camera to the tail light if you don't have a data bus system). Mine had the reversing light in the rear bumper so it was a lot easier to fire. I grounded the ground wire from the camera to the back of the car. One problem is that if you have a BRZ, you get a camera without guides. Or you have two sets ofโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Modern
