I like that it's smaller and looks better than 5811, but it's slower. When I open a door or window I hear a beep without any delay, but on the 5800mini the delay is a few seconds. This can allow someone to disable a zone quickly and unnoticed. Unacceptable.

I have a wired system and when it was installed almost 50 years ago I had built in magnetic sensors wired in series. Everything worked well, but eventually had to fail. I left them in place (hidden) and installed new Honeywell 5800 mini sensors on each window. one doesn't work. They are small and unobtrusive and almost invisible with curtains etc. The best way to go.

These little guys are very small and compact. It was very easy to program them. A few things to know: After inserting the battery, blue and green LEDs indicate when you have contact with the magnet and when it is sending a signal. The light goes out after about 15 minutes.
