Great quality lens

This is the best wide angle lens I have ever used. The assembly is impeccable - it appears to have been assembled by a high-precision robot. There are absolutely no dust particles inside the lens - this is not the case with Canon and Nikon lenses that I have used. It's built like a mini tank with perfectly aligned outer panels and very tight tolerances. Excellent lens coating minimizes distortion - when paired with a Panasonic 4/3 camera, JPEG images perform better than RAW files corrected with

Razor sharp, well built, beware of purple flashes.

As long as you don't point it at a light source while it's mounted on the Olympus body, you'll love it. I shoot with an Olympus OM-D E-M5 and it works really well. It's very sharp across the entire image, with almost no distortion and no chromatic aberration. It outperforms my Canon L glass and other similar caliber lenses! However, the purple glow is definitely a problem. If I have a light source in the frame, then the frame will inflate. Period. Purple flashes and spots everywhere, completely

Great fun lens

I bought this lens from Revain and it's in great condition. What a sharp lens! It works very well with an Olympus E-P3. I don't think its size or weight is an issue for the PEN E-P3. I tried OM 9-18m; Although smaller and lighter than this lens, I found it too soft at some focal lengths. That's not the case here, and the extra 2mm really makes a difference. Shooting with 7mm [=14mm] is a dream, especially for landscapes. Distortions can be corrected somewhat in Photoshop, as can chromatic…

Expensive, but.! in Lenses for Mirrorless Cameras

The Panasonic 7-14mm lens was a problem for me. It cost about double what I've ever paid for a lens, even when I was still making a living from photography. After deciding to take the plunge and buy it (based on generally good reviews and many stunning full res photo examples) I was disappointed with slightly poor edge rendering on the wider FLs and soft edge corners on all FLs. , which I found on my first trial of this lens. Revain was great at the trades (as usual) and the next example was…

Very happy with the 7-14. Using an Olympus Pen F and Lightroom, the distortion is corrected somewhere so it's not visible. As for the dilemma many reviewers are referring to, there really isn't one. The Olympus 9-18 is cheaper and not as sharp. The Pansonic 7-14 is more expensive and, despite the distortion correction, it is also very good in the corners. I had both lenses and the Olympus lens isn't bad; it's just not great. The Olympus 7-14/2.8 is the best, but if you're looking for one of…

Ultra wide angle is damn good for lenses

I'm not the type to print big prints or spreadsheets at 100% resolution but you can find this crap online. Of course, whether you need this lens or not depends on your needs. Here are mine: I'm a casual photographer, a notorious equipment genius and a former photojournalist. A few years ago I realized I had a lot of great DSLR gear that I never used unless I felt particularly guilty about not using it, so I got rid of it and reevaluated my needs. The camera is only as useful as how often you…

Outstanding ultra wide lens

How come this excellent four thirds micro ultra wide lens doesn't have any reviews? I'm not a professional photographer, but I cannot stand by and watch this lens not get the recognition it deserves. Firstly, the ultra wide angle lens is very useful. The difference between 7mm and 14mm is huge. The wide field of view of 7mm allows you to capture stunning landscape shots. With a thickness of 7 mm, mountains become boulders, and boulders become small stones. More importantly, the ultra-wide angle
