I used these hooks with 1/8 cord for protection from impact. At first I just tucked the end in and it didn't hold up very well. I ended up folding the end and putting it in the hook and then it was very strong. Tip - There is an arrow on the lid that applies pressure. It's not very noticeable, so keep looking. The arrow points to the hook and has a slight twist to fix it.

I bought these to hold up the porch curtains. When the wind increases, the curtains fly and can injure a passerby. The idea behind the bungee was to keep them in place without causing extra work when they needed maintenance or adjustment. However, the teeth in this little clamp just wouldn't hold once you went over 10 pounds of force. The cord went through them and nearly gouged my eye out. If you're looking for something to keep your water bottle on your bike then this should be it.

Had to repair a small bungee cord on a bike rack that the ends had just come loose. First, they look MUCH better than without the hook at the end. The size was very good except my wife doesn't think they will work. She thinks they'll just come loose, maybe like the ones that came with the bike rack. She also has a hard time releasing them from the little hook and putting them back in place (I think that's a good thing, but she doesn't). Make sure the cable is 1/8 inch thick or they won't work…
