📚 Park Tool BBB-4 Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair Volume IV - A4, Unisex Review

Kelvin 4th Edition bike repair book is an excellent reference. It starts with the most basic concepts that anyone dealing with mechanical work needs to know. Then I deal with the different systems of the modern bicycle. I really enjoyed the book and put it to good use. My 5 20+ year old bikes ride better than new ones. Thanks to Calvin for a really great reference guide.

I love Park Tools. They are nice to use. This book will teach you how to use them (and understand the parts you're working on) in clear and simple language. I have been using versions of this versatile book for almost 20 years and have greatly improved my tuning/repair skills. The new printed version is a bit poorer in quality than some of the earlier editions, but that's okay. I also save the electronic version on my tablet. I just received this book today and the first thing that caught my eye was the title on the page of this book. it is misprinted. and this is the 4th edition. I wonder what the first 3 issues look like. But as the title of this review suggests, I did a quick scan of the book and found it to be a good bike repair guide/book. I'm not a mechanic but would like to learn new skills. I just found out that Park Tool has a YouTube channel, I think this book will be a good addition to their channel.

First, the content is excellent. Clear, great photos etc. BUT. The book came with large page pieces "glued at the bottom". As if she had gotten wet at some point and then dried. Or maybe it warmed up and somehow the sides melted together. Either way, what a pain! and separating each individual page without tearing is next to impossible. I used a lot of tape to fix the sides, so at least it's useful. Disappointing for a $30 book!

Very well written and organized. Lots of high quality photos. The book gives a simple and clear overview of many individual products with different components, including those from Shimano, Campy, SRAM, Hayes, Bontrager, Textro, FSA and Chris King. The photos show the specific order of repair and operation of popular and elite parts.
