Another great parking tool. Tool.

Used to service the crank on my 1971 Schwinn Super Sport: worked well. The Park Tool website has great documentation on how to remove, clean, and replace the crank. This tool really helps when mounting a crankset on a bike. This gives you more control over how tight the taper of, say, a flat head screwdriver should be.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • No Automatic

My family has eight bikes including a beach cruiser for my wife with a one-piece crankset and a smaller mountain bike for my six-year-old that uses the old three-piece crank used. To service the bottom bracket or bottom bracket on any bike I needed this tool. As soon as I received it I got to work and had no problems. This HCW-18 is made from hardened tool steel (I believe it has a hardness of HRC 61) and unlike some cheaper tools the knurling on this wrench fits perfectly and will not bend…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Something different

Indeed it's the right tool for the job, but it's so flimsy.

This tool is the only one of its kind that I have been able to find. Park Tool is known for its excellent quality bike tools. Yes, they have a lifetime guarantee. My biggest complaint about this wrench is that the metal is very thin. It's like trying to apply a lot of torque to the edge of a thin piece of metal, a little thinner than a kitchen knife. If your situation is similar to mine where the chain nut is very tight, you will have trouble using this tool. I had to wrap a piece of leather…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Negative present
