Bad design and at least overpriced!

If you compare this mini grease gun to others sold at half price at Revain you will notice that the bottom of the grease gun is where you need to push the grease up and eventually pump it out of the gun , has a backlash that causes a lot of grease to come out and makes a big mess at the bottom of the gun. At least bad design. This time the Park Tool failed miserably. It's also overpriced. I don't mind paying more for a quality tool, but this one from Park Tool has the worst design and costs…

Not worth the extra money

Paying extra for Park Tool for a well-known brand is no longer possible with Park Tool. There were metal shavings in the tip that I didn't want to examine under a magnifying glass before filling the gun with lube. This led to us using a magnifying glass and an ultra-fine needle to pick out dozens of metal particles from a clogged tip over the course of two hours. If Park Tools cleans/finishes sloppily before packing, they should either charge you less or tell you that you will do the finishing…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Some minor things

Very Disappointed - Metal shavings all over the lid

Really Park Tool? Metal shavings INSIDE the device used to lubricate the BALL BEARINGS? I'm not the first reviewer to have metal filings. The picture with three rubber rings and green grease in the middle shows where your grease goes to the pump - the green grease was applied by the manufacturer and is for the piston. There was a bag of desiccant in the box but it obviously stopped working a while ago and the threads on the base are rusted - can't fault this park tool because the seller…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Works well after you've blown all the remaining air out of the tube.

This is my first small grease gun and I wanted to try the bike service version of the park tool. As far as I can tell it seems well built and durable. The grease reservoir is ideal for a full tube of parking tool grease. As soon as I closed the burning one, I started pumping and no fat came out. I tried it about 30 times before I started playing around with it. I ended up removing the tip first with a small crescent wrench and pumping until the grease came out of the much larger hole. Then I…

Park Tool GG-1 Bike Grease Gun

This is a good lube additive but when I got a grease gun and screwed on a tube of grease nothing came out. After playing around with this for a while, I took a drill with a wire gauge and drilled a hole. There must have been something stuck in there, or it was factory scrap, or it was poorly made. After that was removed everything worked as it should. I buy Park instruments for their quality, although they aren't the cheapest out there. Dealing with a clogged tip only made the injury worse…

  • No Instructions

If you are reading reviews of this product now, buy it

I cannot recommend this product enough! Fast delivery, excellent product and quite cheap for the park. Fat comes out predictably and accurately. I use my grease gun with the HPG-1 and will be buying another gun for my PPL-1. Unlike other reviewers, I didn't have any metal shavings and the pump works surprisingly well. Some people have leaked lube from the bottom of the can and it's just a lack of common sense! Level the floor before applying lube! Edit after I bought a second one: maybe it was…

Cons
  • Big and bulky

Should have bought earlier. Takes some getting used to, but easy to use.

Glad I bought this. I've been thinking about getting one for a few months. Tired of oily fingerprints left in unnecessary places, I dried the skin on my hands and washed off the grease. It's not magic, but it's a little game changer when you're servicing your own bikes. This makes it easier to reapply the lubricant. No gloves, no dirty can or dirty brush, just that. I ride my mountain bike a lot in dusty/dry and wet/muddy conditions. When riding, temperatures almost never get above 100 degrees…

Pros
  • Can also be used on any tube of Park Tool lube or anti-seize
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
