Solid tool - don't buy cheap flimsy pedal wrenches

I had a few other pedal wrenches and when I've been servicing some used bikes I bought the pedals in pretty solid condition. In fact, I've previously bent 2 wrenches on a stuck pedal, even using WD40 and other fluids to try and loosen the pedal. It wasn't until I got the key for the Park Tool pedal that the pedal finally came loose. It's not cheap, and if you use it a lot, it pays for itself.

You NEED this tool!

I've been repairing bikes for about 50 years, starting with my own. As I don't currently have access to bike tools, I bought a PW-3 pedal wrench because I didn't feel the need to spend extra money on a PW-4 as it probably won't get much use. The PW-3 fits my pedals well and provides enough leverage to pop those tight, rusty old pedals off. It also makes fitting new pedals easier as you can apply a lot of torque with this tool. You usually won't find an adjustable wrench that fits the edges of…

The only tool needed to remove the pedal

I removed a 30 year old Shimano MTB pedal (+3-4k miles on it) with no problems. They were 9/16 not 15mm so it was great to have one wrench that works in both sizes. This is a shop tool and a slight price increase for a consumer tool if you need multiple sizes. The key is size. It has a long handle, quite wide, easy to grab. The working end is narrow, so you need this tool instead of a standard wrench. If you haven't removed the pedals, watch the parking tool video for helpful tips. Once you've…

Great tool, handy, ergonomic, well made

This is one of those tools that you think you won't need because you probably already have a wrench to get the job done. Well, let me tell you that a wrench unnecessarily complicates the job because a) it's too thick to sometimes engage the pedal properly, b) if it's not a big wrench it won't give you the proper leverage to turn unscrew the pedal, but if it's bigger it will definitely be too thick to fit in. c) The wrench slips off and you injure either the bike or your fingers. Do yourself a…
