Damaged wool on the yarn

spinners for over 30 years. The wool I received is obviously moth damaged and the tape has ripped off. Another reviewer doubted that their fur had thick and thin spots. This yarn was not designed to be thick and thin, but a smooth yarn that was constantly spun and then spun. I'm upset that they sent me a damaged ball of yarn and that the store knew it wasn't for sale when it was boxed. I ordered the same yarn from this store a few months ago and the yarn was in perfect condition.

Good wool yarn / it took a long time

This yarn is a very good product if you want 100% wool. With this yarn I crocheted roses and then felted them. I have several different colors to make different colored roses. If you buy it and want it in a timely manner. Don't buy it from Junipers. If you have Amazon Prime and are trying to get free shipping, this is not the place to order. They waited almost 2 weeks to even ship it. Only because I refused to pay extra for shipping BUT I said I would be willing to go much sooner for updates…

Other reviews are correct

As others have said, this yarn has a nice feel. I don't knit anything to wear, but it doesn't look too scratchy. But it is very thin for worsted! It could be DC. It's noticeably thinner than the red Patons of the same label that I also ordered from Revain. My main gripe though: I am knitting a Christmas stocking, bought a 5 inch tube and am using the 4th strand of yarn from that skein. I have been knitting for many years, I buy a lot of yarn of different qualities, but I have never had such a…

DIY Dry Balls That Smell Good Too!

I made my own drying balls out of this. You have to use pure wool and just roll it up and wash it in hot water a few times to "feel" it. Why pay someone else $15 when you can buy a ball of yarn that cats can give a few hours of fun and roll themselves? This color is dark, but I've had no problem with clothes bleeding in the dryer, although the first few times I've only used it on dark loads. I usually put a few drops of essential oils in the balls before each load, this gives my finished wash a

Scarlet versus bright red. Know what type of wool you are buying.

Bright red in my photo above, scarlet below. The scarlet yarn image in the listing is very different in color, at least on my devices. I ordered anyway. Both Patons Scarlet and Bright Red are beautiful shades of red. Scarlet is slightly orange in color, slightly reminiscent of a tomato. For those complaining about the texture, feel, or felt, you know what you're buying: traditional 100% lambswool. It has not been treated to be machine washed/dried. If you want machine washable wool, look for…

Excellent inexpensive wool yarn

I used to buy this yarn with coupons from well known big needlework shops but lately they don't offer as many colors as they have! I'm glad I found it at Revain because I'm halfway through my grandmother's square quilt and prefer to buy several skeins at a time. I love this wool yarn, it's soft and durable and holds up well when you need to unravel a section and then weave it. I have made other small items with this yarn such as hats and scarves and have found them to hold up very well to…
