🚴 Pearl iZUMi Women's Escape Sugar Cycling 3/4 Tight Review

I really wanted to love these cycling shorts. However, they didn't fit. I'm 5ft 7in, weight 133lbs, hips 37in. According to Pearl Izumi's sizing chart, I'm between small and medium. I ordered a size S and could barely get it on my hips. My 12 year old daughter (4'10", 85 pounds) tried them on and they fit her. I think the size Large fits me best.

This was a replacement for an almost identical pair I had for several years. I ordered the XXL to replace my XL based on all the reviews where everyone said they run small. Size XL would fit better but they were sold out so I kept this pair for myself. Just a little wide at the waist. The padding is thick, which I prefer. They are very comfortable and I don't sweat in them as another person mentioned.

I first read the reviews and was a bit worried about the sizing and that it would be too tight. I wear a medium size and chose medium. The best solution. It fits perfectly! I also have thermal cycling shorts from the same brand and they are very tight in the same size but they are perfect. The fabric is dense, the pattern is pleasant. The padding is richer than my other cycling shorts from the same brand, but if you ride long distances this is perfect.

I have other Pearl Sugar breeches, longer and medium, they fit very well. To say they are small is an understatement, I could wear them but I think they will cut off the circulation in my calves. Something might be down to the gray material, can't help it, I know other people have said the same thing, but I had trouble ordering a large size and the suede didn't fit right, so I took a chance I guess , someone then knew because that size was priced at $17 but when I checked the large one it…

This is a great deal if you don't sweat or need to wear them in public after cycling. My commute to work is only about 7 miles / 25 minutes - when I arrive the seat / crotch area is so wet with sweat it looks like I peed. I immediately had to remove my backpack to keep it in front of me. and I ended up sending the pants back because they just didn't fit. They tend to work LITTLE - I wear a 10 and have the XL and found them quite snug.

Based on other reviews I ordered a size up. The waist is a little big and the crotch is hanging, but the legs fit well. I don't know if my regular size would have been better but I didn't have cycling shorts and my crotch was bruised from riding my bike without the padding so I decided to keep them so I didn't have to wear them. have to wait for another delivery. I couldn't help but buy them on sale. I don't usually gravitate toward Pearl Izumi padded bikes because the pads are quite large. Because it's black, it doesn't make your butt look insanely huge; but it makes it look bigger. If you ride and like lots of padding; Then this is for you. I don't usually wear mountain bike pads that thick, but overall they fit well and I love the colors. Once when I was assembling my bike, a bad view got stuck in the seat and pulled a little; because of the overlay.
