Smart gadget but doesn't work very well.

This is one of those simple but totally impractical devices that fill boxes left at Goodwill. It honestly takes about 7 hands to hold the apple straight, hold the head of the knife and slide something back and forth. I've tried this with several large red apples and none of them processed successfully. I'll try some smaller, firmer apples before throwing them away, but I have very little faith in this stuff right now.

Not a bad device but the instructions were rubbish

I've never used this and it took me forever to figure it out. The instructions were gibberish with catchphrases and poorly translated English. Luckily they are all the same so I just watched a video of this and it worked like a charm. Overall the product works well (although I've only used it a couple of times) but the instructions are rubbish. If you don't mind coming up with something yourself (or with the help of YouTube), then go for it. Otherwise, the buyer is careful.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • A few minor things

I have had several of these apple knives over the year and most look the same and are based on the same concept. The difference lies in the quality of the materials used. Has the best suction power to hold the device on a hard surface. It is so strong that it cannot be ripped off the Cambria it was used on. For a potato peeler it was average. The build quality isn't the highest I've had, but it got the job done on some apple pies and a few potato dishes. Worth the price. Wishing for one is…

It just works. Very good.

Great tool. Using it made me feel like I was in the mid 19th century! Like the mousetrap, this invention just works and in my opinion there is no need to spend a lot of money on something nicer. Seems to be well built, although I expect the blade and some small parts to detach or fall off the solid main frame after a while. The suction cups hold up well, although my experience with suction cups is questionable. Maybe adding rubber grease or vegetable oil to keep the cups flexible so they last a

Works very well when adjusted correctly

It takes some time to figure out how to adjust the blade properly so it doesn't cut half the apple. It was set correctly, but I had to fiddle with it, and in the process I discovered there was an art to getting the blade in the right position. Today I made about 15 apples in about 7 minutes, all in an Instant Pot with some lemon juice, cinnamon and water. and bam, applesauce. I've found that homemade applesauce is 1000% better than anything in the grocery store. This guy's ability to core…

The main defects are best in kitchen utensils and gadgets

good first. He peels apples. He is great and peels apples. Sometimes you have to press your finger against the peeler to keep the pressure constant, but seriously, I sliced 8 pounds of apples in under 15 minutes. The suction cup works great, it got dirty from putting wet apples on it and never lost suction. It rotates easily and doesn't peel a ton of skin like I feared. Now it's not so good. We only buy harder apples but we got a red yummy one and I tried it, it didn't want to peel it. The core
