Description of πŸšͺ Pemko Wrap-Around Door Shoe: Aluminum with Anodized Bronze Finish, 36" x 1-1/16" - Vinyl Insert Included

Wrap-around door shoe attaches to a 1-3/4" thick door bottom to protect from damage and to close the gap between the door and the threshold. Aluminum channel is lightweight yet strong and has an anodized bronze finish for additional corrosion and wear resistance. Black vinyl insert flexes to create a light seal against the threshold without inhibiting door movement. Insert has three parallel fins that are alternately notched to allow air flow under the door while still blocking light and sound. Tested and approved under UL10C for fire.

Poor product failed miserably

Product failed miserably. The contractor installed it and had to replace it due to water ingress. Low quality product. Terrible. The ace's $5 swing fixed everything. I should be able to return this garbage.

Easy to assemble without dismantling the door

Easy to assemble without dismantling the door. I set it without a threshold and set the threshold after it. Simple screw assembly. Good fit with alternating movements on the buttocks, easy movement with little resistance.

Not suitable for external doors as it lets through rainwater, insects and cold drafts.

The protective panel is designed for indoor use and is notched to allow air to pass under the door. Does not protect against rainwater, insects and cold drafts. Not suitable for external doors as the seal is serrated. You need a Pemko 217 product - look elsewhere for PEM-P217DV36 and you will find what you need for exterior doors. Unfortunately it is not currently available on the Revain website.
