I use this in my African pygmy frog tank and it provides the perfect amount of landing and hiding places for my two little humans. I wore it there for about 3 months and didn't notice any discoloration or color fading. This is the perfect size for my 3 liter tank. Definitely recommend!

If you look closely at other reviews that mention chemical residue/odor on the surface, they all arrived in Jan/December so I'm guessing it was a bad batch, because mine arrived quite well. Only criticism is that it's a bit small (bought for a white tree frog), my frog will probably outgrow it, but very cute.

Saw this in store and thought it was very cute and would look great in a 10 gallon aquarium for my dwarf fish. When I washed it off before putting it in the aquarium, I noticed that it had an extremely toxic smell. I'm very disappointed because it was cute and I thought Betta would want to rest on the mushrooms but I won't risk it.

Very disappointed with this product. I had two weeks in my tank to cycle through before putting any critters in it. After two days my tank became cloudy and wouldn't clear up even after repeated attempts to fix the problem. I decided to start over. When I removed this item, it was very slimy and the paint was actually peeling off my fingers. Don't waste money.

I bought this and soaked it for 24 hours before putting it in my tank. It smelled a little odd for the first week, so I scrubbed it off during my weekly tank cleaning. When I took it out of the aquarium to be cleaned the following week, it smelled like burnt chemicals! no cleaning will get rid of the smell. My fish has discolored gills (paler than usual). After a big water change and trimming removal, he seems a lot happier. I would not recommend this decoration even though it is very cute.

This item is aesthetically pleasing and my Betta loves to rest on or hide under shells. They are smaller making them ideal for 2.5 to 5 gallon setups but can easily be lost or overlooked in larger tanks. The paint holds up well to repeated cleanings and I've had no problems cleaning or boiling and replacing. It will soften when cooked, so I don't recommend leaving it on for long. Long enough to kill any algae growth. Hardens perfectly when immersed in cold water.

I had this in my 10 gallon beta tank and loved it and sat on the little ledges. BUT it's not worth it because it's hollow and there's no way to filter the water inside the mushroom. That meant a nasty black mold had grown on it and noticing this I took it out of the tank. There was mold everywhere and it smelled of sulphur. I immediately threw it away and cleaned the tank. For reference, I have a great filter and I clean my tank regularly. I wouldn't recommend this for an aquarium.

i've been in my aquarium for about 4 months. My fish like to rest on mushrooms. It looks great in the aquarium and I've had no issues with color fading. When it first went into the pool, I had to clean the pool a little more often because of the residue on the water surface. But after lying there for 2 weeks, this problem disappeared.
