Great camera for DSLR cameras

My love for DSLRs started in the 80's with the Olympus OM 10. Since then I have used several cameras, most recently a Lumix with many automatic functions. This is a great little camera. However, with a trip to China coming up I wanted to up my game and researched and bought this Pentax. I have to admit it was a little intimidating at first, but once I started reading the book and seeing its attributes, it brought me back to my first love. Understand and use the manual functions of an SLR…

Wow, is all I can say! Wow!

I recently bought this camera body after doing a lot of research on it. It was a real choice between it and the K 30. I chose this one mainly because of the external flash socket as I have an old studio light I want to use with it. I really liked the lower price of the K 30 and the reviews for it were excellent. I love that both models are water and temperature resistant because I love shooting outdoors, especially in inclement weather. I liked that the K 30 has a very similar structure to my K

A great choice for a family camera with professional aspirations

I've been an avid photographer most of my life, but I've had no luck with a point-and-shoot digital camera with lower quality batteries. After a lot of research I decided on the Pentax K5ii and am very happy with this decision. For someone like me who likes to be in control of the picture and my wife who likes to aim and shoot and get good results, the K5ii is a very good medium. The green auto at 50mm f1.8 takes photos in almost any light and with autofocus, so you don't drive anyone crazy…

K5-ll with shutter/mirror problem

I'm torn on how to rate this camera. I really liked the K-5ll and the pictures it takes. Before purchasing the K-5ll in 2013, I owned and used the K7 and K5 extensively and take care of my camera or cameras and lenses like my kids do. During a photo shoot with a young child, the shutter/mirror box began to fail seriously without warning. I would like to report back here when the problem is fixed. When traveling overseas with my K5 in 2012, I had an issue with the shutter motor that caused the…

Is there a better one. Although, of course, it will cost much more.

I have been with friends and family for many years and have Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Sony and Pentax. I wanted a replacement for my excellent, albeit limited, Sony NEX-5n. The choice of lens, the lack of a viewfinder, could never really make friends with the electronic viewfinder, which was an option on the NEX-5n. Sold this combination and moved on. Moving to his new home in the Northwest. I wanted a camera for activities I enjoy watching, fishing trips, sightseeing etc. The Canon T5i was a…

Look, you've read all the other reviews. i am not her I'll give you other things to think about. Other things to consider. Sit back, read it slowly, and you might be glad you did. PENTAX EXPERIENCE: I've had Ist, KX, K30, K50, K-5, K-5ii LENSES: too many to list. Dating back to original Sears lenses (yes they work on those Pentax cameras!) USE I use this for business. Sale via the Internet. Initially I used the K-30 for business and the K-50 for personal use. I also have a K-50 for personal…
