🔧 High-performance Tool W54112 Oil Filter Wrench with 74mm Diameter and 15 Flutes - Bulk Packaging Review

I had to put a rag on the end of the filter and tighten a wrench and I was able to bite off enough to turn the filter. Without a rag, the key just slips off. If the filter was really tight I don't think the rag trick would have worked.

Depending on the filter you use it is tight or loose, its 15 grooves are 74mm so it is weakened on the yellow kohler filter and on the black kohler Filter - It's ok, so I just added a few small dimples with a sharp central navel to the 8-flute valleys, and it works on both!

Not suitable for WIX WL 10290, although the measurements should show it. It just spins and doesn't hold up at all. Damn. Luckily I checked before changing the oil. Seems well made so I gave it 3 stars but it doesn't work for my app so it's back in stock. I go to the auto parts store with my filter in hand to try my luck with a random selection.
