The first one broke right away!

As soon as I started using the tool, it broke. I didn't even spin it hard! Bought a second one, let's see what happens to it.

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons
  • Money box price

Think twice if you have a foreign car.

The item says it includes metric dimensions but it does not include the M8 x 1.25 bolts needed for my Mazda. This rating reflects the lack of descriptive packaging from the manufacturer. This in turn led to a visit to the retail store. Otherwise the quality of the product seems to be good.

Pros
  • Cool item
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Worked great on a 1994 Chevy Silverado 2500

. Worked great for me on my 1994 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. I've read some reviews saying they break. Well I don't know how to do that unless they screw them criss-cross into the hinges or use two wrenches when doing the job. It was so easy to use that a five year old could do it. Great little specialty tool.

Pros
  • . Very good price
Cons
  • Not fancy

Make it yourself or buy better. You will thank me

Good design, bad quality. When it arrived in the package, it was slightly bent. I decided to use it anyway because I wanted to complete the job. I removed a hinge pin in about a minute. When I started to screw the tool into the second pin by hand, it broke off. Now it is stuck in the pivot. Tried to pick out, drill. vain. I would not buy again.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • So far so good

The limiting factor is the nut - it's really too thin and weak.

Works unless you tighten the pins then you will eventually break the nut. Difficult to find a nut this size that is thicker and stronger (grade 5 or 8 will do). It worked on one of my pivots (a GM pillar on a 1990 Jeep Cherokee) but failed on another. I got a replacement from Revain and it broke again. I'm a mechanical engineer so I know a thing or two about what I do. Get a competitor's tool.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Negative is present
