I have purchased a total of 11 of these bottles and have not noticed any reduction in tartar. I have tried rinsing my mouth with a solution of this product and water and have also used my Waterpik water purifier (which I consider waste) with a mixed solution of this product and water. I started using Periogen about half a year ago. Just got back from the dentist's office and have "very nice white healthy" teeth! This is from a visit a year ago when the hygienist recommended a thorough cleaning and descaling. Perigen cleaned my teeth of tartar, reduced two molar pockets and whitened them beautifully. If you follow the care instructions (get a water separator, etc.), the product will work. Will reorder when stock runs out.

Overall I think this product will help you remove plaque from your teeth and around the gum line. These 3 packs were the best value I could find to use. The best way to get rid of heavy plaque is to mix a batch into a strong mouthwash and use every day. I like to deal in multiple bottles because I didn't think one would be enough. I actually returned it because I found something here at Revain with incredible reviews that was 1/4 the price. I bought both at the same time and realized I didn't need this item. Another item is the Periactyl set. It's just an amazing thing. I would have kept this item if the price was more reasonable (hence 3 stars) as the mouthwash is probably good to use. Before using Periogen, I used a Phillips Sonicare HX6150 toothbrush, Waterpik WP-100W dental floss, and Dentek Comfort Clean Easy Angle dental floss.
