It works as advertised and has a value of

I installed this because my Mustang 65 has a resistance wire in the wiring harness. Instead of cutting my wiring harness I connected it directly to it, no problem. I will definitely do this for vintage cars that have this setup and distributor.

Pros
  • Year Long Trial
Cons
  • Quality

Ideal for work.

This relay was purchased to short out the ignition switch resistor wire, reducing the voltage across the coil. I bought a Pertronix Blaster 3 coil and needed a full 12 volts at the coil. The relay used for the bypass worked great and it fixed my low voltage slip issue.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Something else

A must have to give your detonator the juice it needs.

Conclusion: If you have an old Ford product with resistance wire powering your ignition points, make it easy on yourself and install this relay. This makes installation MUCH easier, gives you the full 12v you need to power each igniter and also gives you another anti-theft device.

Pros
  • Rugged Finish
Cons
  • Operating Speed

Works but overpriced and not waterproof

This is a simple relay. Yes it works but I used an automotive relay instead which does the same thing. Not only that, but designed to install under the hood of your car, and it's NOT waterproof or anything like that. The $2 auto relay I used in place of this expensive unit is waterproof, as are the other underhood components. I saved my money and just built it myself with the best components.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Discontinued

The Blazer aged Ignitor II kit works and this relay helped a lot

The relay ensures you don't have insufficient voltage problems associated with the Ignitor II electronic ignition in an old Chevy -Motor goes and it bypasses the original wiring so the voltage stays high and the motor keeps running much better than the original points and the capacitor in the distributor that it's day and night. There are ways to do this without using a relay, but you'll have to run the wire from the back of the fuse box or try breaking the connection. It's a lot cheaper than…

Pros
  • It's fun
Cons
  • There are downsides
