Review on πŸ’₯ Improved Pertronix 2001 Ignition Power Relay Kit for Enhanced Engine Performance by Alex Maynard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The Blazer aged Ignitor II kit works and this relay helped a lot

The relay ensures you don't have insufficient voltage problems associated with the Ignitor II electronic ignition in an old Chevy -Motor goes and it bypasses the original wiring so the voltage stays high and the motor keeps running much better than the original points and the capacitor in the distributor that it's day and night. There are ways to do this without using a relay, but you'll have to run the wire from the back of the fuse box or try breaking the connection. It's a lot cheaper than paying even half an hour to work in the garage, and a newbie like me can install it in ten or fifteen minutes and it works like a charm. I keep my old 1973 Blazer in the Maine wilderness, and there aren't many mechanics growing in the trees within 50 miles of me. Of course it was a good idea, I installed it - it's a lot better than driving 30 miles to nowhere on a road with no one driving and no cell phone reception.

Pros
  • It's fun
Cons
  • There are downsides
