We did not use the legs but hung them up in the stable for easy use. This helped our entire small flock weather the arctic freezes of February 2021 in great shape! We highly recommend it. I wish it also had a handy built in way to hang it up if the legs aren't made for a chicken coop.

At first I was very excited because it was very strong and believe it or not the stick was thick enough for my cocks to sit on. Very easy to assemble. Now that I plugged it in I figured it needed more time and it was already pretty cold, but the perch stayed pretty damn cold. Never warmed up, nothing. Very disappointed :(

Heats only during extremely cold times. It doesn't heat up when plugged in. The thermostat regulates whether it turns on. If the weather is not below 15 degrees, it will not turn on. It's just cold metal. You can't put it in a stall because my stall stays warm and won't turn on. I have it outside and my chickens don't use it because it rarely gets hot. Once I felt it heat up when we had fevers up to 10 degrees. waste of money.

This appears to be a well designed product and I was looking forward to giving chickens a better heating solution than a ceramic heater lamp.
