Great product for medium to small dogs

This dog bed is great if you put it together and add a pillow! You may need a second person to help with assembly to read the instructions and the correct pillow size. necessary as the bed is too hard for regular use. However, the bed keeps the dog off the ground but is easy to jump on. This is a very durable bed that will last for years. I now have two of these beds and am very happy with their appearance and my dogs love them!

    Not suitable for chew toys

We bought 2 of these beds for our beagles who like to chew when not seen. Based on the description we were hoping that you wouldn't be able to chew on the material of this bed. They chewed all the foam and even made several large holes in the lid itself. So much for getting a bed that they can use outside and not have to worry about destroying it (and that was over a 4 month period). Hours). However, one bed was left inside and it works well if you keep an eye on the dogs. If you have a dog…

    Not for destructive dogs/outdoors

Bought two of these for my 50lb and 95lb pits. My wife and I put the beds together very easily. My 50 lb pup is pretty destructive and she ripped this thing to pieces the very first day she had it, metal bars and all. My 95 lb pup loved his bed, he was smart enough to know it was better than sleeping on the floor. My only complaint about this product is that the center piece is a fiberboard product and if it gets wet at all it will become moldy. As I moved I looked into the black case because…

Durable Durable? Best in Beds and Furniture

I have a problem with dogs chewing. I know the chewing problem is related to the dog, not the bed specifically. This is a large white German Shepherd who is too smart for his own good and gets bored at times. I read the reviews but bought it anyway. The bed went up very easily and initially it seemed very comfortable. The bad news was that within 24 hours the shepherd had literally turned this bed into a pile of rubble! There was no salvation for him at all. I can't fault the bed as it doesn't…

All of this bodes well for cats

This is a good bed. Some other reviewers say it's not as durable as claimed and becomes unreliable with use. It may not be the best choice for large, heavy dogs. I wouldn't know but we have a small dog and a medium sized dog and they love their beds. We've had a bed for several years and it's just as strong now as it was when we put it together. That's why we bought a second dog for our second dog. Perhaps the reviewers who had issues with Rickedy didn't put it together properly. Some reviewers

    Absolute Best Dog Bed

The Durabed is by far the best investment I've ever made. I bought this for my Weinmaraner bitch 14 years ago and it is now being used by the next Weim generation after my bitch passed away 6 years ago. She has destroyed every bed I have ever bought her before this one. At the time I also had a cat and a doxy. All three will curl up in it to sleep. Darling runs down the hall and jumps into bed with his toys or treats. Due to its age, several bolts popped out of its 90-pound bed jumps, but the…

Great for dogs best for cats

I do not agree with the recent reviews on this dog bed. I bought this durabed for my yellow lab all 96lbs he loves it. The screws never came off, he never chewed on them. but he has outgrown that stage. The bed is strong. He sleeps in it most of the day and night. Maybe the company will change something because this bed is great. There are no breaks in Frabic, it is very strong. also easy to clean. I also have a small child who likes to play with the dog in this bed, we never had a problem. For

    A welcome change from beds

Our previous dog beds have been foam rubber or with pillows. They seem to lose their shape quickly and are difficult to wash. Also, our dog likes to rub his snout on the bed after eating (must have some raccoon in it ;-). His "washing" always caused his bed to slide across the floor. This Petmate bed handles the slip problem perfectly. In addition, the tarpaulin is easy to wipe down and wash by removing the foam-covered panel from the Velcro pocket and disassembling the frame. It's not hard to…

My compliments to the chef from my dog

My 12 lb pug loves his new medium sized petmate Durabed! Did you know pugs have one of the weakest bites of any dog? You'll never guess how quickly my little pug ruined this dog bed. Puggy doesn't chew much, although she occasionally treats herself to good bone marrow. Snacks with plastic lids are left first. They have a texture and taste similar to chewing gum, which Puggy finds enticing and tasty. Puggy then moved on to the seconds, the lightweight nylon webbing that covers the bars. The…

    Love it but am disappointed

I bought two of these beds over 18 months ago. At that time we had two "medium" dogs that weighed about 30 and 35 pounds. The beds were perfect for her. Six months ago we had a German Shepherd puppy who has grown to about 70 pounds. He loves jumping on the bed. I had to retighten the bolts every few days, which was not just because the bolts were loose, but because the bolts were actually "stretching". One stretched to about 1/2 its original thickness (just above the threads) and just broke on…

    Great for hot hairy dogs!

My Golden is always looking for a cooler place, summer and winter. Our underfloor heating makes life difficult for her, but this bed keeps her on the hot floors. I ordered Cool Bed III and installed it in Durabed. PERFECT COMBINATION! My golden one no longer wanders from room to room with its red tongue hanging out. She's in a coma on her cool perch. In the summer she spends most of her time in the lake and cloth/foam beds can quickly become stinky. With the Durabed/Cool Bed combination, all I…
