Easy to install, but there is one downside.

It's good that there is such a possibility to build a door into the wall instead of a door. However, the outside wall of my house is 2x6 studs, and beyond that, inside you have wallboard (another half inch) and wood paneling (another half inch), then wire and plaster (another half inch). inches), making the wall thickness about 7.5 inches. This leaves a gap between the grommet (attached to the pet door) and the outer frame. I had to improvise with foam spraying and plating. It would be nice if…

The price is too high, doesn't hold together by itself.

I bought this to install a door on our exterior wall as I wanted something that would fit well. In hindsight I'd come up with my own solution because: - it's incredibly expensive for two molded plastic parts - it doesn't seal well so you have to use silicone sealant meaning you can't easily remove the parts if you do want to clean / save door. Don't forget to seal it with silicone or you'll get a ton of water in your house. In general, it should be 1/3 the price and have options for mounting on

Too sloppy and too flat for plaster

Pay special attention to the wall thickness. The stucco walls in my frame are 8 inches thick and this kit has become unusable. If you have the tools to cut holes, you have the tools to finish the job in the wild. In addition, the lengthening of the tunnel created a very poor connection between the door and the outer panel. It was a very sloppy landing and unprotected from the elements and insects. For what you get $95, the price is way overpriced. Also keep in mind that if you are wall mounted,

DO NOT BUY! Create your own transition and finish

I wish I had read the other reviews before ordering! But this is the electronic door option I chose, so this is the wall mount solution they came up with for it. He believed the engineers had done their job and created a quality product. As many have said, the price is ridiculous! Almost as much as an electronic door intercom?! And as others have pointed out, the end result is a terrible transition from the outer frame to the inner door. Not protected from weather, water or insects. It's like…

Pass this (and unfortunately also PetSafe Electronic SmartDoor)

very bad design. Unfortunately, if you have a PetSafe Electronic SmartDoor and want to mount it to a solid outside wall rather than a door, you MUST buy this. This kit is MUCH overpriced compared to what you get which is two molded plastic cases. Designers are really lazy. Installation is tedious and the screw holes had to be pushed through to clamp on either side of the wall kit with the wall in between. In addition, the screw holes remain open and look unsightly. Where the two parts connect…

Really great idea - very poorly implemented.

I don't even know where to start. The collar is too heavy. It's ok for my big dog, but there's no way my Jack Russell mix will be able to wear it. The back of the label fell off, had to be sealed with tape. The battery that came with the tag died, making programming a real headache until I figured out the problem. You also have to buy a new backplate and battery from the company every time, this is not a battery you can get in a store. The door itself is very noisy. If you have a dog that goes…

  • I don't know anymore
