Worked for me! fits nut inserts

Used in Kumiko oak logs. I had to use a slightly larger bit (0.020" larger) and ream it up for this tough wood. A hardened steel allen key is also included, which is a nice touch. Everything is held correctly and sits perpendicular to the surface of the blocks.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Minor issues

Functionality - Nut Inserts

I have used Threaded Inserts for wood before and they install similarly. The problem with them is that the internal threads on half of the ones I installed had to be tapped for it to work. Essentially, the internal threads are not clean and do not allow the screw to be easily removed.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • So-so

Easy installation - fasteners

Worked great. I built a tiki bar in the backyard and that's what I did. It can be used in winter when it gets cold. I bought thick plastic freeze strips from Anazon and some thumbscrews, laid them all over the frame and just secured the strips by screwing them in.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Mostly ok but...

Less industrial and more fun

I do not make furniture or other custom items. I'm only interested in some fun projects like a raised bed on wheels and other similar projects in the yard and house. Having collected things using these fasteners in the past, I was reasonably familiar with them. So I figured it would be fun to buy a bundle with a drill and an allen wrench. In fact, they do exactly what they are supposed to do. They hold the boards together in the expected way. A good product.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • A little worn

Wrong thread in action - tie and then stick in the project. Attention emptor

I had a project with 1/4 x 20 inserts and they were few - ordered them. I arrived, installed it in the project and immediately noticed that over 90% of the bolts were not screwed into the liners but jammed. I took some uninstalled screws (1/4x20) and tried screwing them into uninstalled liners (I tried 5-6 different ones) and screwing each one in by hand. one. Something was wrong that day at the Big Rock Candy Mountain factory because I received a box of useless inserts - well, half a box nowโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak
