I used to buy a Grundig Digta SonicMic - a direct competitor of Philips SpeechMike. The Grundig SonicMic was a great quality German product. It worked well. But in the end I decided to try Philips SpeechMike. I'm glad I did. As far as speech recognition goes, this is the best SpeechMike and one of the best microphones I've ever used. Excellent quality with almost 99% accuracy. And the trackball feature is pretty decent. It is very ergonomic and comfortable to use. It becomes a desktop microphone when paired with Stanley Hardware's durable 6" zinc-plated wrist strap #141500700.
