Description of 6-Pack No-Clean Solder Braided Wicks for Desoldering - 1.5m Length - Multi-color (1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 3.5mm)

What you get: come with 6 pieces of no-clean solder wicks in different size, including 0.04 inch, 0.05 inch, 0.07 inch, 0.1 inch, 0.12 inch, 0.14 inch in width and 1.5 m/ 5 feet long, enough quantity and length for your daily needs. No-clean design: the solder braided wicks will just leave little residues after use and the residues are non-conductive and non-corrosive, you do not need to spending time removing them from the boards. Reliable material: the desoldering wicks are made of copper wires with nice quality, precise weaving design can improve the capillary effect and the redundant solder absorbing ability, increasing your efficiency. Wide applications: the braided solder wicks are suitable for labs, home and industry welding work, practical tools to remove solder and correct errors on small PCB boards, bringing lots of convenience for your work. Easy to use: the desoldering wicks can provide a easier way to correct mistakes on small PCB boards and will not make damage to the board, clean small components, suitable for re-soldering and desoldering.

Literally didn't work at all.

Tried and tested. I found a piece of solder in an old radio store and he sucked up the solder like a vacuum cleaner :) They go in the trash.

Pros
  • Top marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Secret

This is good stuff!

This solder wick does its job really well and I liked that I could get multiple wicks at once. I was even able to give a coil to a friend in need without worrying about the cost of replacing it.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • There are cons

Revainrating 1 out of 5

great for modern electronics

Very good suction for solder in modern small electronic circuits I had to add some acid to the braid in a few places that wouldn't move when liquid but that wasn't a real problem.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Disappear

This is a terrible thing!

The weave is so thin that when squeezed it just pulls apart and loses its density in the weave causing it to lose its normal absorbency. I bought 6 of these and they end up in the trash. Also, copper doesn't seem to absorb that well, even if you manage to make sure its weave stays tight. Never again.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons

great for other uses

Besides being for use it makes an excellent braid to connect the brush to the brush holder, I have 2.5mm with a 9/ 32 inch compression spring uses make contact with brush and brush holder contact so the current does not have to use the spring to complete the circuit, potentially heating the spring with loss of voltage. works very well for this purpose and probably many others.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Communication with seller

ideal for modern electronics

Very good solder extraction in modern small electronic circuits. I had to add some acid to the braid in a few places that wouldn't move when it was liquid, but that wasn't really a problem.

Pros
  • Wide range of applications: braided wicks suitable for laboratory, home and industrial welding work, practical desoldering and error correction tools on small circuit boards, making your work very comfortable
Cons
  • I will add later

What is the most important thing to know? Just don't buy.

"Don't clean" literally in this case. It's just useless. It fell apart as soon as the soldering iron touched it, and the filaments spread out into adjacent joints that I didn't want to break. Unlike others here I will not just throw it in the trash, I will send it back and let the seller and Revine take care of it.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • A few little things

Works Perfectly - Welding and Soldering

Great traditional soldering wire. Picks up molten solder quickly and easily. There is a method of using a solder wick that definitely increases its ability to pick up solder from the solder joint, especially on a circuit board. Sometimes adding liquid flux helps and sometimes lightly re-soldering the joint. Personally, based on my 35+ years experience as a technician, this works perfectly!

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of Style

apart from what it should be used for it's a great braid to connect the brush to the brush holder and uses 2.5mm with a 9/32 Inch compression spring to make contact with the brush and a brush holder contact so the current doesn't have to use the spring to complete the circuit potentially heating the spring with loss of voltage. works very well for this purpose and probably many others.

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • so far so good
