Very crisp and clear sound. I connected them to the cxa3604 kicker. I used an optional high frequency filter and set the high pass filter to its maximum frequency. Sounds amazing. Not the loudest because I only get about 50 watts per speaker. But super clean and nice midbass sounds.

Very smooth/open sound. I compared them to a pair of $250 Focus Access speakers and these D-Series Pioneers have impressive mids and power, while the Focus lacks bass and these Pioneers perform well and sound clean.

I tried something. Pioneer does not specify T/S parameters anywhere. I have tested them in optimal cases, both with main unit and with full amp. If you were just listening to these speakers on their own and couldn't a/b them, I'm sure they would sound ok. Next to several IA/B speakers side by side - they were noticeably below the baseboard.
