. Beads before I decided on this set and I'm so glad I did

These wooden beads are nice and smooth. I like that there are no balls (they don't roll out of my baby's hands). My little boy is 23 months old and can thread them on the rope that comes with it. We made a "needle" out of colored tape and tied a bead to the end of each of the two threads provided. I shortened a string to make it easier for him. He is really focused on this task! It doesn't come with a bag which would be nice but I'll use the ones I already have so we can take them on the plane.

Why two shades of orange and no red?

I've just received these and while the quality is great - smooth wood inside and out, paint that doesn't seem to chip - there are two shades of orange instead of orange and red. As one of the main reasons I get them bought was to talk to my little girl about flowers, it worries me. Persimmon and marigold are a bit bigger than my boy who is still working on red and orange - the basics please! It seems like a no-brainer and I'm surprised a fantastic company like Plan Toys thinks it makes sense…

These appear to be very nice lacing beads

These appear to be very good lacing beads although a little pricey for what you get. They are made from regular Plan Toys wood and are stained/stained so should last a very long time. The variety of beads is pretty good, there are quite a lot of them and you get (at least) two strands. don't just fall. Of course you can always tie a bead to the end, but it would be nice if something else was included in the kit specifically for this purpose. Also, the strings are REALLY long, so you should…

Gets lots of playtime

I have a four year old and was about to. On the one hand, I love Plan Toys, but on the other hand, it just didn't seem like something with a lot of replay potential. I was completely wrong. My daughter loves this thing very much. She makes necklaces all the time and also likes to stack them by color or just string them together and "make a rainbow". Like all Plan toys, it is made of beautiful wood and safe for children. The details seem to be of high quality and the shapes are interesting and…

Good lacing beads but not the best

These are colorful lacing beads of different shapes. The beads were generally well made on arrival except for a few holes with slightly rough edges. After a few months, the pearls will hold up well. My only complaint is that the laces don't have a fixed "end" and as a parent you have to tie a bead at the end of the lace to keep the beads from falling off. You can't just tie a knot at the end of the lace because 1) the holes in the beads are big and they'll slip anyway, and 2) the lace is a bit…

Great set of lace beads

The moment we opened the box and I showed my 2 year old son how to string these beads he went into full focus mode and I couldn't stop him. . I ended up giving him thicker laces with a plastic part on the end (like shoelaces) because the laces that come with this toy are very thin. I'll pick them up when he's a bit older and has finer motor skills. I tied a bead to the bottom of the lace to keep the beads from unraveling while he laces. Some other reviews have mentioned that the colors are off.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Requires socket

The best lacing set!

I've looked at various lace beads and I have to say this is the best set I've found and definitely worth the money! The beads are larger than you might expect as you can't tell from the picture. The blue and yellow round beads are 1 1/2 inches in diameter. The green beads are 1 3/8 inches long and smaller in diameter than the blue and yellow beads. Orange dice 1 1/8 inch. To put this in the right light: the blue and yellow round beads have exactly the same diameter as the hole in the toilet…
