The constant cutting off of

The headset is constantly being cut down with wireless use via a dongle. When connected to a controller, the sound quality is terrible. I've searched the web for a few solutions and most said that the dongle works on the same wavelength as WiFi and could interfere with other electronics. Even if I remove other electronics it turns off, but that seems to have helped. In any case, for a $100+ SPECIAL FOR PLAYSTATION headset, I don't have to worry about the wireless not working. We give back this…

Pros

First impressions. Pleases.

Background So these are my fourth PS headsets after my last three broke. (Pulse Elite > Gold V1 > Platinum). I bought them for $85 so I'm happy with them. I hope they don't break within a year like their predecessors, otherwise I'll get Platinum V2.Pros1. Doesn't exert much uncomfortable force like previous PS2 headsets. Came with a code for one month Spotify Free Neutral1. Doesn't fold which means it's not as portable as the Gold V1 and Platinum, but it does reduce wear and tear. (Pro…

What's really nice is that they are very comfortable compared to mine.

Purchased to replace the AG9 Afterglow headset. The first thing that struck me was how light the box was and I wondered if there was anything in it at all? The headphones are incredibly light. The ear cups are under the strap and there is no loop to mention in old reviews. What's really nice is that they are very comfortable compared to my AG9s. Setup was easy and switching between surround sound was a simple push of a button. Since they're designed by Sony, the nice part is that you visually…

Sony gradually began to lower its standards

I am a regular customer of Sony products. From game consoles, PS accessories, TVs, headsets, music devices and so on. Here I will only talk about headphones since my review relates to them. I have purchased PlayStation Gold headsets four times in the past. They were of good quality in performance and finish. Despite being heavier than most lightweight headsets, they were much more comfortable and could play a solid volume. The microphone quality was very clear and precise. BUT . I bought these…

Hingless and with improved buttons

My old Sony Gold headset finally burst when the infamous hinge breakage happened on both sides. I needed another pair and saw they are available now. I couldn't find a decent headset that gave me independent access to volume like the Sony PlayStation headset where I can change chat volume independently of game volume and vice versa. These new Sony Gold headsets are amazing. Benefits1. No loops!2. Much better buttons. The older model's buttons were really bad and landed too deep in the headset3.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

All that glitters is gold

I would like to mention that I still have a couple of the old gold ones which like many others are reinforced with metal and tape after the hinges failed. I saw them on the horizon and decided to upgrade. I'm glad I did. It doesn't look like the same fate will befall them. When I unpacked them, the first thing I noticed was how light they are. This is good for longer sessions. They feel like a mature product and don't feel cheap thanks to premium finishes and earcups. The fit is comfortable but

An improvement over previous headsets with some minor flaws.

This is definitely an improvement over previous PS4 headsets, but there are still a few design issues I'd like to address. First off, I'd like to point out that there are some people who do experience noise-cancellation and slight popping from the headset, however this is a lack of PlayStation ergonomics and possibly the way it mounts on your entertainment stand. A simple solution would be to move either cables or devices away from the key that could potentially be causing interference, and you

Good 7.1 Wireless Headset for PS4

Summary: This headset is lightweight, comfortable, has good sound, clear sound, good microphone and surprisingly good 7.1 surround sound. I did a 2 hour comparison with my wired Astro MixAmp. and I was surprised by the results. Highly recommended. About me: I have been using flagship headphones for both music and gaming for over 7 years. About my headphones: Audeze LCD-2 (balanced) / Ultrasone Edition 8 LE / Beyerdynamic DT990 / AKG K702 / Creative Aurvana Live ! / Astro MixampReview: I tested…
