I have had this grate for a week now and use it every night in my wood burning stove. This is clearly not a long-term report, but so far it's holding up admirably. Nice grille! The size represents the widest part of the base (front legs). The depth is 11 inches, that's steel poles for logs. First I ordered 21 inch, but then got 24 inch. See photo. 21" left, 24" right. fit in your chimney. The 24 inch grate has a hard time holding 3 logs, especially when you start a fire and move hot logs around.
