I've used this with a USB OTG cable with multiple plugs and charging on a number of Androids including a Nexus9 Nexus7 and a couple of SM based GNex I had laying around. Surprisingly, after about 20 speed tests with this gigabit adapter and an Asus ac66u router in 2x2 5GHz mode and nationwide tests, the Gilan USB2 adapter was on average 20-50% faster with about the same ping time. .
