Saves time and money

When the network adapter for my PC came out, I had a choice: replace the motherboard as this device has the network adapter built into the motherboard, or buy a connector. in the USB network adapter. The new MB was $100, this adapter was $25, because of that difference I thought it might be worth a try. It arrived quickly thanks Revane, installed the drivers from the CD that came with it and plugged it into the USB port. Windows quickly found new hardware, installed drivers, and connected to…

DOES NOT WORK on MacbookPro 2016

Paid $24 for it. I needed to install drivers for my macbook, went to the page, downloaded, installed. I had to reload, no it still doesn't work. Luckily I also bought a cheaper $12 Gigabit TP-LINK at the same time and BAM! it WORKS out of the box, no drivers to install. Hooray! now I am happy. PLUGABLE took my $24, they should NOT advertise that it works with Mac. =/ Here is a link to TPLINK, I'm not getting paid for this, I just want to help someone with a Mac…

The? You must install the DRIVER from the CD to use this thing.

If you're nostalgic for the old days, buy this one. You must install the driver from the included mini-disk before the adapter will even work. Without them, the device will not work. If you're lucky enough to have a CD drive, you're fine, but if, like me, you don't have a CD drive on your computer anymore (like most people do), or if you lose your CD, bad luck . You can't download and install the driver from the website - it doesn't exist. There's no joy in this blast from the past. And so much

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Maybe it's ok? --- Works better

The installation seems to have gone well. My speed has more than doubled (from 95 Mbps to 180-220 Mbps) on a 200 Mbps ISP service. Everything looked fine, then after about 15-20 minutes couldn't connect to any website via Chrome, didn't run a speed test, didn't connect to Steam etc. Network troubleshooter showed everything was fine, device manager said that it works properly and has the latest driver (from the Plugable website). Tried the Microsoft Edge browser and was able to connect! At the…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

I've used this with a USB OTG cable with multiple plugs and charging on a number of Androids including a Nexus9 Nexus7 and a couple of SM based GNex I had laying around. Surprisingly, after about 20 speed tests with this gigabit adapter and an Asus ac66u router in 2x2 5GHz mode and nationwide tests, the Gilan USB2 adapter was on average 20-50% faster with about the same ping time. . At 2.4GHz or DualN frequencies, the results were nowhere near gigabit speeds. I don't know how often I'll be…

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Good but not great

Easy to install on Ubuntu Linux, but performance is poor

I give this high rating for being so easy to install on Ubuntu when so many other items are are difficult to use with Linux. I installed this on a 64-bit Ubuntu 13.04 desktop. Actually install is not the right word, there was nothing to do. I just plugged it in and within 10 seconds it was working and I didn't even press a button or any key on the keyboard. My Samba server running on Ubuntu noticed there was a new card and switched almost immediately with almost no downtime for my clients. The…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Doesn't work with Nexus 10 but works with Chromecast!

Purchased with Micro USB Host OTG Cable powered by Micro USB (https://smile.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field -keywords=B009YPYORM ) that need to work together to access Ethernet. Unfortunately it doesn't work with my Nexus 10. I've tried connecting it 10 different ways. I tried to root my device. I've tried 4 different apps that promise to enable ethernet but don't. I connected an ethernet USB stick to my computer and it works fine. It absolutely refuses to work with my…
