Fan whistle is terrible

This is the second one I have ordered. It works, POE is ok. Although the melodic squeak is terrible. The other doesn't sound right at all.

Pros
  • Solid build
Cons
  • Does not fit all

Complete rubbish for single-board computers

Complete rubbish and no support after DOA submission I expected more from an "official Raspberry Pi product"! Would be 0 stars if possible

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • disappears

Doesn't fit the official Pi 4 case

Easy to install and no software. The fan turns off when the temperature is below the set value. The bottom 4 screws holding the stands prevent the Pi 4 from being installed in the official case. The bottom of the case can be modified by drilling 4 holes to allow 4 screws to go through the case.

  • Few competitors

Works best in single board computers

According to other reviews it works. It's not the most flexible option (bulky, heatsinks are problematic and deprive you of the ability to do other things), but it works out of the box, installation is very easy, and overall I'm happy. Checked timing after installation and they are ok. But in general I don't hit the device much so your mileage may vary

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • So-so

I got a new case for my cluster and didn't want any warts on the wall of the extension. I tried a cheaper POE hat and it was bad. This works very well, but remember that you will need to remove all of your heatsinks. I connected my 8 Raspberry Pi 4s using POE hats and a 120W POE switch. There are several lost packets and I can't tell if it's the Switch or the Pis. All in all a very good item that appears to be working properly (I don't think my RX issue is related to the hat). This consumes…

Rev2 performs better than Rev1

I was one of the early purchasers of a Rev1 PoE board and encountered USB power consumption issues. I didn't even send it back because of the hassle. I'm happy to report that this board works great with a Pi 3B+ or 4 with multiple USB devices attached. However, I only gave 4 stars for "Value" because there are other, cheaper PoE HATs on the market that are not made by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. They work great (I have 3 third party ones) but remember that when you buy official Raspberry Pi…

  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Best PoE Options from Unofficial Vendors

I bought this PoE hat for use with Raspberry Pi 4 thinking it would be the best because it's made by the Raspberry Pi Foundation and the official PoE hat is. I assumed it would be the best out there but I was wrong. The fan is very noisy and turns on/off every minute, which is very annoying. There is no way to adjust the fan speed, there are 3 modes, off, medium and high. Both medium and high volumes are loud enough to keep it out of the house. It occupies all 4 holes and prevents use in most…

Works great on the latest RPI4!

Works great on my RPI4 which I use as a home automation server with HomeSeer 3 and Homebridge to turn everything into an Apple Homekit. The fan is a bit noisy, but I don't care, it's in the server rack. Now my Pi is powered by a single ethernet cable! Love it! I designed and printed my own RPI case for use in my server rack. The 1U size is perfect for this POE hat, so the size will fit when it's mounted on the Pi. Search Cults3d for "RASPBERRY PI 4 1U RACK MOUNT"! UPDATE: I sometimes had some…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast

  • Crumpled
