A must have if you're trying to lose weight at the gym

I go to the gym and I'm always frustrated when I can't get my heart rate right on any of the cardio machines. Especially when running, it's almost impossible to hold the heart rate buttons to get an accurate reading. I'm 52 and I've lost 30 pounds in 5 months but I've hit a plateau. Eventually, I realized my heart rate was too high for fat burning, so I researched what kind of telemetry belt would work with cardio equipment. This strap was recommended by the manufacturer of the device, andโ€ฆ

Doesn't work with my Life Fitness.

Never had the opportunity to choose the size of the strap. The resulting band is medium in size and too tight. My old Life Fitness is NOT reading the signal the device should be giving! Update 01/09/2019: Both the manufacturer and the seller are selling this device WITHOUT A MANUFACTURE DATE. Without a date, the buyer is taking an unjustified risk and acquiring something that has been around for several years and may be gathering dust on some seller's shelf. Look, ma, no hands. - Training & Fitness

I bought a Polar T31 coded heart rate monitor at the gym I go to hoping it would work with the Life Fitness Activate Series OST treadmill. Happy to report straight out of the box, so far so good. Putting something on is not difficult, even if you have to adjust it. Wearing the transmitter wasn't as uncomfortable as I thought it would be either. After putting it on I just went to the car, installed the program I wanted to use and left. The display no longer says "no heartbeat detected" and I noโ€ฆ

About 8 years ago I bought my first heart rate monitor and a Polar watch. The watch and chest strap lasted about 3 years and then I stopped using them and relied on how I was feeling to control my workouts. Recently I decided to use it again to improve the effectiveness of my training. I was able to replace a dead watch battery a few years ago, but the chest strap was a lot trickier - it didn't need to be replaced, but I replaced it after a YouTube video and it worked fine. 2 year battery life BUT read full review

I bought this "NEW" in June 2016. warm and a little sweaty then it starts to work and slowly drops from around 220bpm to my actual heart rate. (my heart isn't beating at 220bpm) There are 25 bikes spinning in the room, he's doing the same thing ON ALL 25 BIKES, ONE BIKE EACH, so it's not a heart rate readout on the "BIKE"! I've been using Polar HRM since the 1990s, maybe the 1980s? Battery life has been getting shorter and shorter in the last 5 or 10 years. Maybe mine sat on a shelf in aโ€ฆ
