Bones have always been the highest quality material.

Used these for my subwoofer to create space between it and the amp so I can run a cable underneath when mounted on the back of the box. Worked great but I'm sure they're great for skating too. When I was young and skated a lot, I always used bones.

  • Several competitors

  • Legacy model

Retro wheel rails fit ice skates, skateboards and scooters

These red ribs are bright red and don't look good on my wide hosoi and also make it easier to hold. Even though I don't raile, they were worth it for the slight lateral hold on my board and the unhealthy look. Buy a set of rails for your board even when you're not training, just carrying it on your side is so convenient, and the right rails for your board always look awful!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • There are even more interesting options.

Keep the graphics longer and glide well

I've only ridden them a few times but the rails feel solid and hold up well. They are smooth enough to slide well over metal. I used a clean cap and a well polished flat bar. They come with screws. If you decide to pre-drill the hole, use a depth gauge. I drilled a hair too deep and when I tightened the screw it pushed the grip tape out a little. I don't know the right distance to keep them from doing that. It seems like you don't want to place them too close or you risk blowing off the edge of

Old School Skateboarding Housekeeper

Again everything in perfect condition. I am very happy with this rail set and they fit perfectly on my regular sized Santa Cruz Screaming Hand Deck. I found red to be a very good choice. But since I don't do any tricks or grinds, I can't comment on the durability. I just added them to my skateboard for the grip and because they look great if I remember back then. I wish they could be sent in a box instead of bubble wrap but that would probably increase the shipping cost. They arrived inโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy installation

  • A few minor things

I assume that's the standard for modern skateboards?

Today's tapes are very different from the Powell tapes I rode in the 1980's. The old rib bones were wider, only had 4 holes, and came with Powell "Rat Nuts" T-Nuts, which were much stronger than tiny wood screws. They are much narrower, have 5 holes and are only attached with screws. Luckily I can't skim the rails as aggressively as I could 30 years ago, so bolt strength doesn't seem to be an issue. And I see pro riders like Steve Caballero riding long rock 'n' roll boardbags in concrete poolsโ€ฆ
