Hurricane Florence just happened

I bought this inverter 2 weeks ago. I mounted it on the wall, connected the fridge and it worked fine, after two hours I disconnected the load and turned it off. The next day I did the same as a test, but the inverter didn't turn on, there was no green LED. Hurricane Florence just passed here and I need an inverter I can trust. This one is on the way back. I am looking for an inverter from another brand.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Excessive price

It has only been used occasionally in my workshop but has worked well. So far he has worked without hesitation with an angle grinder and a 3 ampere drill. However, the professional puzzle only starts to work with a two-second delay. A 7 amp electric jigsaw to be honest. I would love to give it 5 stars but only gave it 4 due to the lack of USB ports. I have to remember to bring a plug to charge my phone with this inverter.

Quiet when light loads

I set this up to power very low powered devices in my RV. Works well. Pure sine is the way to go. The fan does not work until the load heats up the inverter. Under the load I've used so far, it hasn't been enough to even warm it up. That is much. heavier and three times larger than my 800 watt modified Sin Wave Black and Deck inverter, but I installed it so it wouldn't be a problem at all. I am satisfied with this item. Works well. Tied to a solar panel with a battery.

so good - looks reliable

so far so good - looks reliable. I bought this about a year ago but right now my solar panel is running on 400Ah flooded cells. Connected in series with a 150A fuse. My 1kW microwave (about 4 minutes per cycle) works very well (there was a buzzing noise with non-sinusoidal inverters). I don't know how well he would work if he was on 24/7 duty, say behind the fridge. Let's see how long this lasts. The good thing is that the fan only turns on when needed. I'm not sure about the absolute…

Silent Beauty!: Starters, chargers and portable power packs

I have a very simple solar system in my cabin: Harbor Freight 3x15W solar panels connected to 4x90Ah AGM batteries via a VicTec 30A charge controller. Since I only go there on weekends, I usually have enough energy to get through the weekend. I bought this to replace a Samlex 600W PSW inverter after one of my guests accidentally fried it by plugging it in with reverse polarity. I was drawn to the Power Bright inverter because the reviews said the fan would not turn on until the unit was running

Caused a fire - TWICE!

Good customer service and quick return/repair. After the first fire (it was a small fire and we were in our van at the time and put it out immediately) I went through the installation in detail with a technician and updated all the wiring if there was any suspicion. But a few months after we got the repair back, the same thing happened. We turned on the computer and it started smoking and caught fire. We were back on site (we agreed never to use the inverter without being present), turned off…

Inverter sweep with multiple comments

I'm glad I got a pure sine wave inverter at this price and hope it works well enough to keep. The inverter arrived well packaged in foam hangers in a strong kraft box. Huge, taking up almost two feet of space in length and a foot in width. And heavy, see weight in spec. However, he passed one of three tests. My giant mosquito lamp ran for four hours before I turned it off. The next day, he was unable to run two 60-watt light bulbs simultaneously with a 500-watt infrared heater. Just starting…

Got a bad good one for Power Inverters

Maybe I got a bad one. I installed this inverter on my RV following the instructions (which don't help much other than plugging it in first) using a 200 amp fuse box and 0 gauge wire about 2 feet from the 400 ah battery . It worked very well and powered the TVs and outlets in the camper for about a week. I've never had more than 4 amps AC. So far, so good. I turned it off and it sat on the road for a week with charged batteries. When I left all systems running for the dry weekend camping, the…

Burnt out but under warranty.

Update 26th August 2014: I originally thought it was a great inverter based on my old review below. But that's when I tested it for a few minutes here and a few minutes there. Now that my solar system was actually up and running, it literally burned out after just a week of operation! It caught fire, lots of smoke and flames came out of the vents, and what a stench! Because of the smoke, my wife lost her voice and we had to ventilate the room by opening all the doors and windows to draw out the
