Type of review

Bought for work. I work as a technician at a Chrysler and Kia dealership and am the chief electrician. It was an absolute lifesaver. Being able to power/ground the circuit anywhere is amazing. You may even find that pulse width modulation is used in circuits like fan motors. I've been using it for over a year and have never had a problem with the product. If I ever have problems I will definitely buy again.

Great tool but be careful how you use it.

The thing works great but you have to be careful how you use it. I've found that partial tribes don't always read well. Also, do not use a driver with a pulse width driver. I checked the camshaft solenoid and got incorrect readings that would make me sue a perfectly good ECM. I love having good traction when testing things like taillights. As a car mechanic I can tell you that the Power Probe is great.

As an auto mechanic, I can tell you that the Power Probe is great. I bought my first Power Probe III from a tool cart about 15 years ago and used it constantly. After about 10 years, my switch burned out, which I had to disassemble on the old model and solder a new one on. What I learned from this is to press the switch before you touch what you want to turn on, otherwise there will be an arc on the switch contacts.
