Just like Old House said

Like a number of other commenters, I was led to these things by a video post by Old House about renovating a basement. They suggested using these corrugated bolts to hold the battens and styrofoam sheets firmly to the poured concrete wall. They work exactly as they said they would. Fast, cheap, neat and pleasant to drive. My dog doesn't like the sound of the drill or the hammer. As others have said don't mess around with a regular hammer, use something heavier, they need a hard hit. I use my…

Way better than any other concrete fastener I've used - next best.

Where have they been all my life? Much better than any other concrete mounts I've used - next best result is a distant second. To be honest I don't understand why they work so well. I expected them to have good vertical strength but not much horizontal strength. I used them to attach batten strips over 2" XPS insulation. Medium grade concrete walls, 1960's construction. I had to be careful not to pinch the skin strips to the point where they went into the XPS - that's theirs horizontal clamping

I would never go for spring nails, the homeowner had them and was an extra charge, I always went with a faucet. This product requires you to have a puncher and a lot of hand strength as you will need to pre-drill some bits. If you don't have a puncher, you need to buy one because the feather nail is 4 1/2", best install the lead, you don't want to wing it. If you don't have the right depth, you can't get a feather nail, and it doesn't matter how hard you hit it if you go too deep it doesn't…
