Camper septic line install

Received in a timely manner with other items. We had snow on the ground so I plugged it in and buried the sensor. Later on the snow was slightly melted around the wire. I installed on a camper septic pipes and valves. Wrapped around the pipes, around the valves and covered with insulation. So far, it has kept the valves and pipes from freezing; however, the weather has only been 15 to 20 degrees at night, 30-40 degrees during the day. It has a light on the male plug which is lit whenever there…

Junk. Never worked. Never got warm.

Unfortunately, I didn't try to test this when I got it by placing it in a freezer to see if it would warm up. I am going to try and return it, but I am well past my Best Buy return period, so IDK. A few weeks ago, it got down into the 20s, and I decided to use this instead of filling my RV fresh water tank and unhooking the hose. Since it wasn't cold enough to turn on when I wrapped the hose with the tape, I walked away thinking I would wake up to good water pressure. Wrong. The hose was frozen

Easy to use - my new review

Make sure you have some zip ties and some flame retardant insulation and your good to go. Says it can't be plugged into a extention cord, might be an issue for some.

Pros
  • easy to set up just plug in
Cons
  • It didn’t keep my pipe from freezing at 9 degrees. I got lucky they didn’t bust.

Does the job for my opinion

I bought this heat cable to go around the barrel and the pipe for our chickens water system. It has been working great for the last couple months. I like the light on the plug so I can confirm that it is connected to power and the auto on off has been nice to save a little energy. The water has not frozen at all and the chickens are getting their water just fine.

Pros
  • ‎6-feet
Cons
  • The product may not be suitable for use in areas with restricted access or limited space

Works for our RV water line

We got this to use for our RV. We wrapped it around the water line supplying us since we are spending the winter in it. There have been many nights the temps have been well below freezing and we have never had to deal with not having water due to the hose freezing. It’s well worth it! We got 80 feet to wrap around the 50 feet of hose and it’s perfect. This feels safer than those heated hoses that tend to cause problems for people. We have had this about 4 months so far. You do need a dedicated…

Pros
  • Affordable option for maintaining pipe integrity and functionality during winter months.
Cons
  • The heating cable may not be compatible with certain types of pipe insulation or protective coverings

Keep RV water supply from freezing.

I bought this to keep the water supply to my sons RV from freezing. They are staying in it until their house is built which seems to be taking all winter. We taped it to the hose supplying water to the RV and put foam insulation around the whole thing and it has been working fine with out any problems.

Pros
  • Pipes, Pipe Fittings & Accessories
Cons
  • The product may not be effective in preventing frozen pipes in extremely cold weather conditions
