Description of πŸ”§ High-Performing BK Precision 388B Digital Multimeter with Logic Test, Transistor Gain and Wide Range of Features: 20 Amp, 750VAC, 1000VDC, 40 Megaohms, 40 Microfarads, 4 MHz

Digital multimeter measures current, voltage, resistance, capacitance, and frequency. Average-sensing meter provides accurate readings when measuring linear loads where the current or voltage has an undistorted waveform. Logic test reports the logic state of an electronic circuit. Measures the forward current gain of NPN and PNP transistors. Meets International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) safety standard 61010 and is certified for Category III installations up to 1,000V.

Quality digital multimeter for everyone

BK Precision manufactures high quality gears. This DMM feels good and is strong without being overly heavy. The lines are of particularly good quality, they pull apart easily which is a big plus.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Available in black only

Very satisfied for multi tester

So far I am very satisfied with this meter. I needed a good manual multimeter and decided on it after hearing good feedback from a colleague. I don't regret anything yet. The quality is excellent, the accuracy is as expected and the lines are very comfortable and strong.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • reliability

Good example of digital enhancements

does the job of previous versions without much change or re-learning. A good example of improving things digitally, but not more difficult to use or lower quality. I would have given more stars but delivery took a long time and the information was very incomplete at best.

Pros
  • Very good value for money

Manual range, old-school counter with a solid feel.

Sturdy, well built, good looking and, as far as I can tell, accurate. The beep when you plug the red wire into the outlet to measure the current is a nice feature - maybe I won't blow as many fuses now. Capacitor measurement up to 40uF. Frequency measurement in kHz. I have been using BK products for many years and have always been happy with them.

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Fine

I died for tester

Died after a few months of use. No blown fuses, just erratic readings and then sudden death. This was after the 1 month Revain guarantee so I was out of luck. They put me in touch with the company and I saw that they have higher repair rates than what I paid for the item. I think it's ok in terms of workmanship and performance, but I really didn't like the weak plastic flip-back.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Requires socket

Professional quality

I am a service technician, this replaced my old dyno which I had for 20 years and which was thrown into my travel tool box for about 1000 plane trips and still worked, now retired as my garage -Voltmeter. I hope to get the same durability and unmatched performance as this iteration. So far so good, so easy to use and the cables are roomy. Couldn't ask for more.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Not NIST traceable on multifunction testers

NIST certified traceable - no! The rest works fine. I've been using the same old trusty BK Precision 2703B for over a decade and it's rock solid. For the job, I needed a meter with a NIST traceable calibration certificate. I looked at some Fluke test tools that are much more expensive and then decided to try the BK again. As far as I can tell from a quick test, the readings and build quality of this meter are solid. The only problem is that there is no NIST certificate! What there is is a nice…

Pros
  • Durable surface
Cons
  • Damaged
