I replaced it after 16 months as it only puts out 12 volts. I noticed it because my battery died twice in the last 4 months so who knows how long it actually lasted.

Perfect fit. Arrived early. There are some great videos on YouTube to guide you through the installation. It took about 40 minutes. You only need a few tools.

Alternator failed after 2 months according to ASE certified auto mechanic. Towed to a store. I have to return for full credit.

The car has already broken down, just died in the middle of the Autobahn, when taking it to the store they found a blown main fuse which blew as soon as the battery was connected. After several hours of ground testing, they discovered that something inside the generator was shorted to ground. Switched to a new one from a local parts store and the problem was solved. I'm working on getting them to give me a warranty/money back as it was purchased and installed 8 months ago.

I drive a 1998 Honda Prelude. This alternator was DOA, my car stalled on the freeway while driving it at 70 mph. On the roads, the car seemed to stall while inside, the e-brake and battery lights were on. They took it to a car service for checking, they said that there is no current going through it at all, it is defective. Want to know if this part has a manufacturer's warranty?

The fit on my Prelude was absolutely perfect. All screws lined up easily and all connectors were in the same place. I can't comment on durability as I've only had it for a few months. Does what it's supposed to and is a lot cheaper than an OEM device. If I keep the car for 10 more years I would buy a stock unit. Anyway, there isn't much life left in my car, so that's enough to keep it going for now.
