Will not fit 2004 non-turbo Chrysler PT Cruiser

Bought the part and ended up getting a mechanic to install it only to find the part WILL NOT fit at all. The photos show the old pump (brown) and the new pump (white). The rim part is not the same and does not fit the tank opening. Time lost and the car still won't drive. Now we have to wait for another pump.
