Good pump but noisy

Excellent pump. I installed it on a 2001 Honda Accord LX 3.0 V6. Most places charged over $200 just for the pump and found this great deal at $75. However, the pump is quite noisy.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Only available in black

Do not buy this power steering pump

Just installed this power steering pump on my 2000 Honda Acord 3.0L. Crying all the time, especially when I turn a corner. I'll put my old one back on, it's only wine when it's cold outside.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • ---

Installed 6 months ago. It does the trick, but it's bloody loud. Tried different mounting positions for flow, tried different fluids, tried bleeding air. it's just louder than a single mom on valentine's day. If you're looking for a cheap solution like a lonely Valentine's Day, then this is it.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Out of style

Easy to install, works like a charm!

The only complaint I have here is not about the pump itself, but the fact that the pump's design allows for the power steering belt to be routed around the motor mount to change the belt, you must remove the engine mount and jack up the engine with a block of wood. Terrible design. But back to the pump. Thanks to this detail, my engine compartment differed in noise level day and night when I turned the steering wheel. The hum is gone, the pump is working properly.

Pros
  • Inspires Confidence
