I bought this item so I don't have to use a knife to make lemon wedges or potato wedges. In a jiffy you have to grab that lemon or potato and you get six good slices! The only thing I've noticed is that if you don't align the blades and base properly, small bits of the base will be cut off the edge and they could end up in your food if you're not careful. Okay, I love kitchen gadgets but I don't add them to my collection unless they can do something that no other gadget or good knife can do and I will keep using them. again. Most disposable gadgets are simply folded into a box and then sent to a donation box. I have to remember that many of these gadgets are for people who need help.
